There were no warrants, no court orders, and no court hearings before a judge. The DHS simply used their authority to grab websites on the basis they are perceived threats (apparently Osama Been Deadforawhile makes a good living with bootleg DVDs).
So, if WikiLeaks is really exposing dangerous classified diplomatic cables that are a threat to the United States, why didn't DHS seize the WikiLeaks domain? Assange was dropping hints of a major leak to come. If WikiLeaks was a real whistleblower, DHS could shut them down by grabbing their domain name just as easily as it shut down the copyright violators.
But they didn't.

WikiLeaks is a fake whistleblower, an attempt to repackage old ABCNNBBCBS lies in a new form that the public will swallow.
There is no other possible explanation for DHS not to seize the domain as a real threat, especially since Assange was not shy about dropping hints as to what was to come!

A contemporary comment in a CA thread says that WikiLeaks was down and refers people to megauploads. WikiLeaks has not even been a major reference for Climategate – that belongs to eastangliaemails.com (originally anelegantchaos.org) which was up on Nov 20 and provided a searchable database.

Two days ago 70 websites were closed down by the department of Justice. No judge, no jury and no court hearing. Their argument? They allowed torrent downloads. So if it is so easy to close down websites why is Wikileaks still up and running? The Pentagon has a whole department dedicated to being able to stop cyber "terrorism" and Julian Assange can run rings around them with his Robin Hood antics. The alleged perpetrator Pt. Manning who "stole" the secret documents is in solitary confinement and not even his family is allowed to visit him. We don't know his story but with the political situation in the US being what it is he will probably be called an enemy combatant and will not be allowed to have a court hearing and he will disappear into the system never to be heard from again.

A CNN correspondent is currently aboard the USS George Washington but most people in America are UNABLE to view the live updates. Apparently, a US ship taking part in war games exercises in Korean waters is not important enough for the American people to view. What is going on in Korea?
