Pakistan's former president Pervez Musharraf has warned the army may have to intervene again in politics, if the country continues to decline. He added Pakistan may be forced to take matters into their own hands - which could include working with the Taliban - if it continues to feel alienated by the rest of the world.
Webmaster's Commentary: Musharraf appears to be very politely calling for a military coup in his home country as the condition which might pave the way for his return. The question would be whether the Pakistani people would want him back at this point, given the clouds of corruption which hovered over his presidency to the point of near impeachment.

KEVIN Rudd's call for an inspection of Israel's nuclear facilities was made without any consultation with Jerusalem, the Opposition has claimed. Israel has barred a group of Palestinian firefighters from attending a ceremony where they were to be honoured for their help in battling a deadly forest fire last week. At least 10 Palestinians were invited to attend the event in northern Israel, where the four-day fire left 41 people dead and ravaged large swaths of forest.
But Ahmad Tibi, an Arab member of the Israeli parliament and one of the organisers of the ceremony, said the event was cancelled when three of the Palestinians were refused entry permits to Israel on Tuesday. He said the military had turned the firefighters away on security grounds. "It's a theatre of the absurd," he told The Associated Press news agency. "This is a regular day-to-day practice of the occupation, and it exposes its ugly face."

Last month, Joseph A Klein wrote an article for the Canada Free Press criticising the Obama administration for joining the UN Human Rights Council.
The Council had met and found fault with a number of human rights violations by America. For this, Klein verbally bashed the Council. Klein is author of the book Global Deception: The UN's Stealth Assault on America's Freedom." Having "studied the United Nations for many years" Klein says he "watched it degenerate into an anti-Western echo chamber that does more harm than good." The point of Klein's writing is that the UN is wrong because of its criticism of the US and Israel.
Return and restitution as the remedy of choice has a strong international precedent. For example, in the context of the Dayton Accords, concluded under the auspices of the United States, the return of Bosnian refugees to their homes and restitution of their property was considered a "non-negotiable" right that was critical to crafting a durable solution. American leaders such as Madeleine Albright, then the secretary of state, openly called on Bosnian Muslim refugees to return en masse to their former places of residence.
In Bosnia and in Palestine, the return of refugees has been considered absolutely necessary for the stability of peace. Any deal that does not respect the rights of refugees has been viewed as bearing the seed of its inevitable failure.

BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Israel's legislative council approved a new draft law Monday that would deny Palestinian prisoners the right to visits from their lawyers for a period of one year following detention. The law, which amends guidelines for the treatment of prisoners, extends to the Israeli courts the power to ban Palestinian prisoners from visits by their legal representatives for an entire year, up significantly to the current law which sets a three week limit.
Today, the Daily Mail publishes for the first time the legal document which could trigger a full coroner’s inquest into the death of Dr David Kelly. The document, formally known as a memorial was written by group of campaigning doctors who have been trying to secure an inquest since 2004.

Selling government debt is a gigantic confidence game. For decades, investors all over the globe have gobbled up massive amounts of U.S. debt at incredibly low interest rates because they believed that it was a certainly that they would be paid back and be able to make a little bit of profit on top of it. Unfortunately, things have changed. Confidence is U.S. Treasuries is dying, and if confidence in U.S. government debt completely collapses at some point we could literally be looking at financial Armageddon. Why is that so? Well, when the world totally loses faith in U.S. Treasuries, interest rates on U.S. Treasuries will have to keep going up until enough investors are found to buy them.
Getting lost in the numbers is an easy thing especially with the magnitude of numbers being tossed out by Wall Street and our government. I think many in the country have just become apathetic to “billions” or “trillions” of dollars being thrown around as if this was a common part of daily dialogue. When California had its first budget fiasco with the housing market imploding a few years back a few billion dollars captivated the attention of the state for months on end. Today, even the prospect of a $28 billion deficit hardly seems to garner any attention.
