Prosecutors: JPMorgan, Bank Of America Municipal Bond Scam May Be 'Tip Of The Iceberg'

J.P. Morgan and the Great Silver Caper

There’s a lot of rumor, buzz, innuendo, chitchat and scuttlebutt about the precious metals markets these days. Most of the chitchat is about J.P. Morgan and silver. Rumor has it that J.P. Morgan has amassed a whopping short position in silver. The scuttlebutt, according to SFGate.com, is that “J.P. Morgan holds a giant short position in silver. Furthermore, some observers are accusing the bank of acting as an agent for the Federal Reserve in the market…I.e., a lower silver price helps maintain the relative appeal of the US dollar…

WikiLeaks ‘Struck A Deal With Israel’ Over Diplomatic Cable Leaks

“Assange met with Israeli officials in Geneva earlier this year and struck the secret deal. The Israel government, it seems, had somehow found out or expected that the documents to be leaked contained a large number of documents about the Israeli attacks on Lebanon and Gaza in 2006 and 2008-9 respectively. These documents, which are said to have originated mainly from the Israeli embassies in Tel Aviv and Beirut, where removed and possibly destroyed by Assange, who is the only person who knows the password that can open these documents, the sources added.”

Students march on UK parliament ahead of fees hike vote

A mass demonstration is underway in London with thousands of students making a final attempt to prevent the government from trebling the amount some will have to pay to go to university. The students started to gather at noon and marched towards the Houses of Parliament. Police are braced for trouble, as clashes erupted during a similar protest last month. The students want to directly lobby MPs into voting against the introduction of increased fees for higher education. The protesters plan to hold a candlelit vigil.

11 Reasons Why The Threat From Al-Qaeda is Not Real

The United States government has repeatedly stated that the treat from Al-Qaeda against America is very real, and that all action is being taken to eliminate that threat. Nobody in their right mind would question such a serious assessment about a sensitive national security matter from the world's leading democracy. But the truth is that over the past fifty years America's democratic institutions like the press have been weakened, and an elitist National Security State has risen, and taken control over all aspects of government.

TSA - Insiders Say New Machines Have Poor Detection

A scientist associated with one of the body scanner manufacturers, Ronald J. Hughes, has submitted patent documents to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for various devices involved in airport screening of passengers to detect terrorist threats. In those documents, Mr. Hughes details serious failings of the x-ray body scanning equipment, including its lack of reliability to detect plastics or ceramics used in bomb making.

Wikileaks whistle-blower: Where's the money, Julian?

Manning's defense fund has raised over $90,000 - but not a penny has been received from Wikileaks, as was promised, the legal team has confirmed in a statement.

"Immediately following Bradley’s arrest in late June 2010, the whistle-blower website Wikileaks publicly solicited donations specifically for Bradley’s legal defense expenses," notes the BMSN.

"In July 2010, Wikileaks pledged to contribute a 'substantial amount' towards Bradley’s legal defense costs. Since Bradley’s selection of David Coombs as his civilian defense attorney in August 2010, the Bradley Manning Support Network has unsuccessfully attempted to facilitate the pledged Wikileaks contribution.

2011~~ IT’S TIME FOR PALESTINE

Struggling as I have for the past decades to grasp the dynamics of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and find ways to get out of this interminable and absolutely superfluous conflict, I have been two-thirds successful. After many years of activism and analysis, I think I have put my finger on the first third of the equation: What is the problem? My answer, which has withstood the test of time and today is so evident that it elicits the response… “duh” … is that all Israeli governments are unwaveringly determined to maintain complete control of Palestine/Israel from the Mediterranean to the Jordan River, frustrating any just and workable solution based on Palestinian claims to self-determination. There will be no negotiated settlement, period.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Which is why Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, and now France have recognized the state of Palestine with the 1967 borders.

ONE FIRE STILL BURNING IN ISRAEL

The Carmel blaze was barely extinguished, yet we are already seeing the flames of racism re-emerging. After we discovered that the disaster and suffering do not distinguish between Jews and non-Jews, and after both friends and rivals from among the “gentiles” came to our rescue, we could have hoped that the pyromaniacs of racism also internalized something of the lesson about the sin of arrogance, evasion of responsibility and loss shame.

Israel draws international rebuke over refusal to freeze settlement construction

The EU, UN and Arab League criticize Israel on its failure to renew freeze on West Bank settlement construction, which expired in late September, leading to the halt of direct Israel-PA peace talks.

The European Union, the United Nations and the Arab League have rebuked Israel after its refusal to halt settlement construction forced Washington to drop efforts to relaunch Mideast peace talks. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday stuck to his position that he won't negotiate without a freeze of Jewish settlement building in the West Bank and East Jerusalem - lands captured by Israel in the Six Day War in 1967 and sought by the Palestinians for their state. He spoke after meeting in Cairo with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and intelligence chief Omar Suleiman.

Israel appears only in 77 out of 20,000 Wikileaks docs

On its website WikiLeaks says it has so far released "almost 20,000" of the "251,287 leaked United States embassy cables." The release, however, raised questions as it doe not contain any incriminating or embarrassing document against Israel.

"No classified Israeli material was exposed by WikiLeaks," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in November, suggesting that Tel Aviv viewed the release as a positive.

An Israeli-born investigative journalist has found evidence that WikiLeaks "struck a deal with Israel," based on which the websites founder Julian Assange would withhold cables incriminating Israel in exchange for money.

Firefighters For 9/11 Truth Debunk Assange: Irrefutable Proof Of Cover-Up (VIDEO)

One of the many groups of dedicated professionals insulted by Julian Assange is “Firefighters for 9/11 Truth.” This is their video. Assange says they are liars but even Fox News now admits that Building 7 was destroyed by explosives. Assange staked the reputation of Wikileaks on the public never learning about Building 7. Who would want to silence the biggest controversy in history? Why is Julian Assange doing this? Who is he?

Welcome to Shangri La - The temple to excess tobacco money built!

Webmaster's Commentary:

The grounds are impressive to be sure, but what the website and tour guides do not mention is that Doris Duke was a forerunner to Paris Hilton, a girl who did nothing but inherit a fortune, from tobacco in this case, built several mansions and filled them with whatever caught her eye on her world travels. The docents do their best to portray Doris's shopping sprees as some kind of noble artistic endeavor, but in truth I found the experience of touring this house troubling. I know intellectually there is a gap between rich and poor in this nation, but visiting this house really slammed me in the face how huge that gap truly is, and how blindly worshipful of wealth, no matter how acquired or used, our society has become.

Eiffel Tower shut and roads blocked by Paris snowfall

Motorways in the Paris region were described as impassable as snow that had already hit other areas of France spread to the capital. Elsewhere in Europe, a boy drowned in southern Spain when his father's car was swept into a flooded river. In Poland, a further three people died because of the extreme cold. The authorities there said 66 people had lost their lives since the severe wintry weather began in late November. The Meteo France service reported that one of its Paris weather stations had recorded 11cm (4.5in) of snow. The French capital has not seen a larger one-day snowfall since 1987. Will Gold Prices Go Higher?

Gold has had an incredible year. The price on the last trading day of 2009 stood at $1,085 an ounce; it has since risen to about $1,380, a rise of 27pc. It has been higher still: the gold price struck its highest ever level of $1,421 on November 9. There doesn't seem to be much doubt about the cause of this bull market. All the analysts we spoke to agreed that "quantitative easing" – or printing money – by central banks had sparked fears over the value of paper currencies, spurring investors to switch to more tangible assets.

US warplanes bomb central Iraq

US fighter jets have reportedly pounded a region in Iraq's central governorate of Babil months after Washington declared an end to combat operations in Iraq late August.

Iraqi security sources said that on Monday, US warplanes shelled a region lying north of the provincial capital of Hilla, Aswat al-Iraq news agency reported.

“A number of US jets pounded this afternoon al-Buhayrat region, al-Askandariya district," said a security official, noting that Iraqi authorities had not been informed about the operation.

“The attack could [have] targeted some armed cells in the region,” he added.

It was not clear if the airstrike had left any casualties.

The Carmel wildfire is burning all illusions in Israel

Israelis are treating the fire as one of their greatest tragedies in recent years. A friend who grew up in the Haifa area told me over the weekend that he was devastated by the images of destruction he saw on TV. His friend's brother was among those who perished in the bus accident. Though he is a dedicated Zionist who supported Netanyahu's election bid in 2008, like so many Israelis, he was furious at the response -- or lack of one -- by the government. "Our leaders are complete idiots, but you already know that," he told me. "They invested so much to prepare for all kinds of crazy war scenarios but didn't do anything to protect civilians from the basic things you are supposed to take for granted." It seems that in their flawed zeal to get some press coverage, NASA again has egg of their faces, reminiscent of the Mars fossil microbe fiasco. It’s more “science by press release” gone wild. Slate.com has a scathing review of the fire that is raging in the microbiology camp over this press release:

“It would be really cool if such a bug existed,” said San Diego State University’s Forest Rohwer, a microbiologist who looks for new species of bacteria and viruses in coral reefs. But, he added, “none of the arguments are very convincing on their own.” That was about as positive as the critics could get. “This paper should not have been published,” said Shelley Copley of the University of Colorado… Webmaster's Commentary:

Wall Street's Pentagon Papers: Biggest Financial Scam In World History $12.3 TRILLION in taxpayers' money.

Wait, what? Did you say $12.3 TRILLION tax dollars were thrown around in secrecy by unelected bankers… and Congress didn’t know any of the details? Yes. The Founding Fathers are rolling over in their graves. The original copy of the Constitution spontaneously burst into flames. The ghost of Tom Paine went running, stark raving mad screaming through the halls of Congress. Webmaster's Commentary:

David does a good job of laying the facts out, but may have missed a crucial point. The purchase of mortgage-backed securities by the Fed is most likely a forced buy-back! Remember that mortgage-backed securities are a Wall Street invention, the bastard child born of the financial orgy held in the wake of the repeal of Glass-Steagall. Most of those MBS are now known to be fraudulent. The Cyber-attack on the US banks in February 2009, whose source we were never told, although it had to be known, appears to have been a silent warning by the foreign banks to make good on the bad paper ... or else!

When the MDS frauds started unraveling in 2006 (The FBI was investigating but did nothing and Mukasy refused to start a federal investigation in 2008) , banks across Europe, Asia, and Australia found themselves holding Wall Street Mortgage-Backed Securities (or Collateralized Debt Obligations or other names) that were non-performing. This is why all these other nations got into financial trouble and were forced to turn to the IMF for bailouts, which come with “Austerity demands” which have already fueled riots in many countries. Apparently come banks and government have demanded the US make good on the fraudulent paper or they will blow the biggest of all whistles on Wall Street. So the banks and mortgage companies that grew very rich very quickly peddling those over-subscribed (and in the case of Countrywide, totally uncollateralized) investment packages are having to buy them back, and need to cover the losses. Obviously simply printing up the cash for the buy back inflates the value of the dollar away. The buy back deal is only valid if the dollar continue to hold most of its current value, so the banks needed a major source of wealth coming into the system to offset the cash going out on the buybacks.

Back in 1933 Roosevelt solved a similar problem by simply confiscating gold. Today the wealth confiscation is homes. Starting with the Bush administration and accelerating through Obama, tax credits were given to large corporations to encourage offshoring of high paying US jobs. This meant Americans could no longer make their mortgage payments, setting them up as easy targets for a firestorm of foreclosures, many of them fraudulent.
In short, the US Government took Americans’ jobs so the banks could take Americans’ homes, to pay for the buy-back of the biggest Wall Street fraud in history!

This is massive wealth confiscation, done in a way that tricks the Americans who have lost their homes into thinking that it is their own fault!

Police State USA: Building Public Acceptance for Airport Body Scanners

Senator Schumer's bill is yet another attempt by the government to assure people that this invasion of privacy is really not that serious and is outweighed by the need for greater security at airports. Why are we subjected to this humiliation when the Israelis, surely the most security-conscious people in the world, do not use these methods?

America Alone

Nation-building missions and armed democracy-promotion ventures are not essential to America’s security. We do not need, and should not want, any more Iraqs or Afghanistans. More than 5,000 dead Americans and nearly $2 trillion down the drain ought to deter Washington from pursuing similar schemes in the future. It was bad enough during the Cold War when the United States appointed itself global policeman, but in recent years our nation has become the world’s armed social worker. U.S. leaders will find that to be an increasingly lonely role. Even America’s professed allies no longer have the military capabilities or the desire to join us as junior partners. Instead of berating them for a lack of loyalty, we ought to emulate their wisdom and restraint.

Gates Insists Afghan War Going Really Well

Record death tolls and a really pessimistic Pentagon report delivered to Congress just days ago are old news, according to Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who insisted that the war in Afghanistan is going really well and indeed “exceeded my expectations."

Webmaster's Commentary: "Going really well", Secretary Gates? Gate's having made this remark in public gives me grave concern about this man's sanity, and his ability to carry out his responsibilities as the US Secretary of Defense."

The most honest assessment which can be made right now, is that this war is "going really well" for the drug lords and the defense contractors; because it's a damned moral certainty that this almost decade-long war is certainly not "going really well" for the Afghan people!

Sari-clad India ambassador gets pat-down at Miss. airport

India's sari-clad ambassador was pulled from an airport security line and patted down by a TSA agent in Mississippi after attending a conference, an act one state agency official called "unfortunate." The hands-on search last week also embarrassed the university officials who invited Meera Shankar, India's ambassador to the United States, to give a speech for an international studies program.

"It was a wonderful program, maybe the best we've had, (but) this stupid incident ruined the whole thing. She said, 'I will never come back here,'" said Janos Radvanyi,

Webmaster's Commentary: Welcome to the world of the average American citizen, simply trying to get from point A to point B, Ambassador Shankar! I don't blame you for never, ever wanting to travel to the US again. In fact, many foreign travelers will no longer travel to the US because of the insanities of TSA (Tourism Suppression Agency)policies. More and more executives who have needed to travel in the past are getting videoconferencing equipment, completely refusing to travel anymore, and who can blame them?!?

This is not about keeping travelers mores safe; these procedures are about cowing Americans into accepting everything this government says they have to accept "for their own good."

Israel launches strikes, warns on Gaza

Israel launched retaliatory air strikes on the Gaza Strip Thursday hours after its top soldier warned troops to be prepared for possible "wider action" on the enclave's volatile border. An Israeli military spokeswoman said the strikes were aimed at three separate targets, two of which Gaza militants confirmed were sites they used for training. No casualties were reported. The air strikes were launched overnight after a mortar fired by Gaza militants wounded an Israeli man at a farm. Israel ended 38 years of Gaza occupation in 2005 but it began blockading the strip in 2007 after Hamas Islamists hostile to the Jewish state seized power from Palestinians prepared to negotiate peace with Israel. Webmaster's Commentary: Please remember: Hamas did not seize power from the Palestinians: they were elected, fair and square, by a population disgusted Fatah!

Of course, that was not the outcome the Israeli government wanted, so they quickly began a siege of Gaza, not for security reasons, but because they thought by starving Gazans outright, they could change the political landscape.

Report: Abbas aids to ask UN to recognize Palestinian State

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has "given a green light" to his aides to ask the UN Security Council to recognize a unilaterally declared Palestinian state, London-based daily Asharq al-Awsat reported on Thursday.

The paper reported, however, that Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abdoul Gheit asked the Palestinian leadership to give Washington another chance to negotiate a two-state solution. Gheit also reportedly said that the US must apply further pressure on Israel, before time runs out for a peace plan. Webmaster's Commentary: Memo to Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abdul Gheit: the US has absolutely zero leverage here to move peace process, and a two-state solution, to move forward.

If Abbas doesn't move for UN recognition soon, there will be no Palestinian state. "Waiting" for a successful US intervention here is like waiting for Godot!

North Korea North Korea military drills are destabilising region, says US

North Korea fired artillery into waters near the maritime border with the South today as the US increased pressure on China to rein in its ally, warning that continued aggression from Pyongyang would risk another war Webmaster's Commentary: So, let me get my head around this: the live fire exercises the North Koreans are doing are "destabilizing", but the joint live-fire exercises the US is doing with South Korea and Japan are not "destabilizing"?!?

Chinese official visits North Korea to show support for Pyongyang

North Korean leader Kim Jong Il met Thursday in Pyongyang with a top Chinese diplomat, North Korea's official state media said, as the two countries boosted their "friendly and cooperative relations."

According to the North Korean account, Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo conveyed a greeting from President Hu Jintao and presented Kim with a gift, reinforcing the cozy Pyongyang-Beijing relationship that has drawn recent criticism from the United States and other nations involved in the six-party talks about North Korea's nuclear ambitions.

Webmaster's Commentary: This could certainly be expected, but what the article fails to mention is that North Korea reacted to a South Korean live fire exercise off disputed waters, which North Korea had requested that they stop, and South Korea refused to stop the exercises. Unfortunately, things are so intense in the region right now that one small misunderstanding, missed signal, or missed communication could set the entire Korean peninsula ablaze. One has to wonder if that is precisely what the some elements in the US government is hoping to happen. A successful war against China would mean that the US government wouldn't have to pay back those billions it borrowed to finance its endless wars, as completely insane as such a scenario might seem to thinking people.

House bars moving Gitmo detainees to US soil

The House of Representatives on Wednesday approved legislation to prohibit moving terrorism suspects from the military prison at Guantanamo Bay to U.S. soil, a blow to President Barack Obama's efforts to prosecute them in criminal courts. The provision was tucked in must-pass legislation that would fund the U.S. government's operations through the end of the 2011 fiscal year, September 30, 2011. That legislation now goes to the Senate for approval. Webmaster's Commentary: It is very simple why the House doesn't want a normal, constitutional trial for these prisoners of war: they are terrified that Americans will wake up to the reality that many of these people were coerced into confession under torture, and what physical and psychological scars will surface as evidence to that fact.

U.S. Home Values May Drop by $1.7 Trillion This Year: Zillow

U.S. home values are poised to drop by more than $1.7 trillion this year amid rising foreclosures and the expiration of homebuyer tax credits, said Zillow Inc., a closely held provider of home price data. The drop in home values pushed more buyers underwater, meaning they owe more on their mortgages than their homes are worth, Zillow said. The percentage of homeowners with so-called negative equity reached 23.2 percent in the third quarter, up from 21.8 percent at the end of 2009. Webmaster's Commentary:

U.S. Homes to Lose $1.7 Trillion in Value This Year: Report

According to analysis released Thursday by the research firm Zillow, U.S. homes are expected to lose more than $1.7 trillion in value this year. Since the market peaked in June 2006, the company says homeowners have been stripped of $9 trillion in equity.

To put things into perspective, Zillow cites a report by the Congressional Research Service, which says from 2001 to the end of September 2010, the war in Iraq has cost the United States $750.8 billion. That means the value lost in residential property values since mid-2006 exceeds the cost of 12 Iraq wars. The depreciation of residential property values this year is 63 percent more than the $1 trillion lost in all of 2009, according to Zillow.

Chinese Appetite For Gold Continues Unabated.

The Chinese appetite for gold continues unabated. Gold imports by China—the largest producer of the yellow metal in the world—is set to touch a record 260 tonnes for the year 2010, bullion dealers predicted on Thursday.

Already, the yellow metal import by China has increased five-fold for the last 10 months of 2010. By the end of November 30, the Chinese gold imports stood at 209 tonnes. In 2009, China had imported just 45 tonnes of gold, compared to the massive 350 tonnes of gold that rival India had imported in the same year. India is currently the largest gold importer and consumer in the world.

Global Bond Rout Deepens -- US Authorities Losing Control Over "Events"

The yield on 10-year Treasuries – the benchmark price of money worldwide and the key driver of US mortgages rates – has rocketed to 3.3pc, up 35 basis points since President Barack Obama agreed on Monday to compromise with Senate Republicans on tax cuts.

The Treasury sell-off has ricocheted through the global system, triggering bond sell-offs in Asia, Europe and Latin America. Japan's finance ministry braced as borrowing costs on seven-year debt jumped by a sixth in one trading session, while German Bunds punched through 3pc.

BUSTED!! WIKILEAKS STRUCK A DEAL WITH ISRAEL OVER CABLE LEAKS

In a recent interview with the German daily Die Tageszeitung, former WikiLeaks spokesperson Daniel Domscheit-Berg said he and other WikiLeaks dissidents are planning to launch their own whistleblowers’ platform to fulfil WikiLeaks’s original aim of “limitless file sharing.” [3]

Mr Domscheit-Berg, who is about to publish a book about his days ‘Inside WikiLeaks’, accuses Assange of acting as a “king” against the will of others in the organisation by “making deals” with media organisations that are meant to create an explosive effect, which others in WikiLeaks either know little or nothing about. Tests Confirm Gulf Seafood Contains Toxic Oil

Test from several independent laboratories have confirmed that Gulf seafood contains a high level of toxic compounds as a result of oil contamination.

BP's Deepwater Horizon well leaked over 206 million gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico over a five month period, yet government officials have gone out of their way to assure the public that shrimp, fish, and crab harvested from those waters is completely safe to eat. "I wouldn't eat shrimp, fish or crab caught in the Gulf," Naman told Raw Story. The seafood Naman tested displayed an unusual high concentration of oil and grease in its digestive tracts: 193 parts-per-million.

Sick for the Holidays: Gulf's Toxic Effects Continue

Increasing numbers of U.S. Gulf Coast residents attribute ongoing sicknesses to BP's oil disaster and use of toxic dispersants.

"Now I have a bruising rash all around my stomach," Denise Rednour of Long Beach, Mississippi told IPS. "This looks like bleeding under the skin."

Rednour lives near the coast and has been walking on the beach nearly every day since a BP oil rig exploded on Apr. 20. She has noticed a dramatically lower number of wildlife, and said that many days the smell of chemicals from what she believes are BP's toxic dispersants fill the air.

Yet her primary concern is that she and many people she knows in the area have gotten sick.

Armed services are urged to stock kitchens with Gulf seafood

Navy Secretary Ray Mabus, who doubles as President Barack Obama's point man on Gulf Coast oil spill recovery, is pressing America's armed services to consume as much Gulf seafood as possible.

Patriot Act for Internet ahead?

As a result of WikiLeaks, the Obama Administration may introduce a new bill that would allow government officials the ability to spy on Americans through the internet. Meanwhile, an army of hackers rally behind WikiLeaks by shutting down MasterCard and PayPal because they stopped all payments to WikiLeaks. Investigative journalist Wayne Madsen says we could see massive government surveillance of our personal computers, phones and surveillance of our internet activities.

Top Military Brass Working With BP to Promote Gulf Seafood

Navy Secretary Ray Mabus is pushing all members of America’s armed service to buy and eat as much seafood as possible.

This is as sinister as it gets! BP has destroyed the gulf and is now working with the U.S. military to get it in the homes of American troops(already poisoned by continued exposure to depleted uranium) throughout the country! Multiple scientists have declared gulf seafood toxic and for good reason. Over 2 million gallons of toxic dispersant has been sprayed in and around the gulf. The facts are so heavily documented that there is no logical way that any literate human being not pushing an agenda could believe otherwise. This is common sense.
