Army: Israel detonates 'spy' devices in Lebanon

The Israeli army on Friday detonated two of its espionage devices in southern Lebanon, slightly injuring two passers-by, a Lebanese army spokesman said. "Around noon today, the Israeli enemy detonated two spying apparatuses by remote control in Wadi Qaysiyya outside of Majdal Selem" near the southern coastal city of Tyre, the spokesman told AFP.

The Wiki Hoax

There are two opinions of Wikileaks. The worlds intelligence services all, every single one, believes Wikileaks is simply an intelligence agency playing games. They say this to each other, Vladimir Putin and Zbigniew Brzezinski have announced it to the world and others are following suit.

Nobody, at least nobody typically “answerable” will say the word “Israel” but it is what they mean when they say “intelligence agency.” They mean Israel. Every Wikileak does something to help Israel in a different way at a different time. If Israel has a problem, a Wikileak is there., part of the solution. This time, Secretary Clinton was in the way and Wikileaks showed up to gut the State Department and give Israel the usual “buff and polish” job they usually do.

Hasidic Rabbi, Sons Accused of Sexually Abusing Girls

A Hasidic rabbi and three of his sons are suspected of sexually abusing at least four female relatives, after the rabbi's eldest victim — his daughter — confided in a co-worker at a Jewish school, police said Friday. The 58-year-old father and his 21-year-old son fled to Israel two days ago and are wanted for questioning in the case, police said. They were apparently driven to the airport by the mother. Flashback: The Gulf of Tonkin Incident (How US military exercises, provocation and misleading claims of enemy aggression lead to the Vietnam war)

In the absence of independent journalism, the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution — the closest thing there ever was to a declaration of war against North Vietnam — sailed through Congress on Aug. 7. (Two courageous senators, Wayne Morse of Oregon and Ernest Gruening of Alaska, provided the only "no" votes.) The resolution authorized the president "to take all necessary measures to repel any armed attack against the forces of the United States and to prevent further aggression." The rest is tragic history.

Nearly three decades later, during the Gulf War, columnist Sydney Schanberg warned journalists not to forget "our unquestioning chorus of agreeability when Lyndon Johnson bamboozled us with his fabrication of the Gulf of Tonkin incident."

Schanberg blamed not only the press but also "the apparent amnesia of the wider American public." And he added: "We Americans are the ultimate innocents. We are forever desperate to believe that this time the government is telling us the truth."

Will Seoul keep Gaeseong complex?

The fate of the joint Gaeseong Industrial Park in North Korea, the last thread of inter-Korean reconciliation, has been called into greater question amid soaring tension after the North’s deadly shelling of Yeonpyeong Island last week.

In a confirmation hearing at the National Assembly, Friday, defense minister-nominee Kim Kwan-jin said he would propose closing the complex to President Lee Myung-bak as it could hamper the military’s ability to respond in the event of a North Korean attack.

Webmaster's Commentary: Should this complex be closed by the South Korean government, it may well signal an escalation of tensions between North and South Korea.

FBI Issues Alarmist Memo That "Video Girl Barbie" Could Become "Kiddie Porn Barbie"

By the FBI's logic, the new "Video Girl Barbie" doll, which has a small working video camera in the toy's chest, has the potential to become the latest technology in child porn production. Never mind the fact that making child porn involves more than owning a camera and an action figure.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Don't you guys have something more important to do. like arresting Mossad terrorists or something?

GREAT MOMENTS IN THE HISTORY OF THE FBI.

"[Your information is] too precise, too complete to be believed. The questionnaire plus the other information you brought spell out in detail exactly where, when, how, and by whom we are to be attacked. If anything, it sounds like a trap."

FBI response to the top British spy, Dusko Popov (code named "Tricycle") on August 10, 1941, dismissing Popov's report of the complete Japanese plan for the attack on Pearl Harbor.

China passenger train hits 300 mph, breaks record

A Chinese passenger train hit a record speed of 302 miles per hour (486 kilometers per hour) Friday during a test run of a yet-to-be opened link between Beijing and Shanghai, state media said. The Xinhua News Agency said it was the fastest speed recorded by an unmodified conventional commercial train. Webmaster's Commentary: I would like to point out that China is really taking the lead in this kind of technology; it's the kind of thing that the US used to excel at, but barely does any more.

Employers Won't Hire The Jobless Because Of The 'Desperate Vibe'

With the U.S. unemployment rate still soaring at 9.8 percent and 6.3 million Americans having been unemployed for 27 weeks or longer, employers can now afford to be extremely picky about whom they hire. In addition to seeking very specific skills, degrees, and numbers of years of experience, many employers are specifying in job ads that candidates be "currently employed" elsewhere to be considered for the position. "When you show desperation in your face and your tone during an interview, management is going to pick up on that vibe. They're gonna feel it and see it and notice something's off," he told HuffPost. "It's like somebody who hasn't been on a date in a while -- they're awkward, and the other person's gonna be turned off. Webmaster's Commentary:

Talk about adding insult to financial injury: of course, people are going to be desperate, particularly when they have been laid off through absolutely no fault of their own!

Et Tu Motorhead? - Motorhead Beats Up On Banksters In New Music Video

Relax, it's Friday. The song is excellent, but that's not the point. It's the message. What's important and worthy of celebrating is the growing awareness of the Federal Reserve, worldwide bankster heist.

And Motorhead just made a music video about it. Even the most cynical would have to admit to the awesomeness in that.

Double Dip In Housing Largely Caused By Failure to Prosecute Mortgage Fraud

What is clear is that what [Bank of America, Wells Fargo and other big banks] were doing was illegal and at least technically constituted fraud and misrepresentation to the courts. There should be more than a handful of bankers who end up with long terms in prison as a result. Just because there should, however, does not mean that there will be. White-collar crime is simply not taken seriously in this country relative to blue collar or street crime, even though the amount stolen with a pen far exceeds the amount stolen with a gun.
